‘Me time’ — you deserve to spend time on yourself.

Regardless of who you are and what you do, the pressures of trying to maintain some semblance of a work-life balance can be overwhelming. Work, family, relationship, financial and health pressures can take their toll, and we need to get away from it all and take some serious ‘Me time’.

There’s always something on the go, and some days you might find yourself wishing there were more hours in the day to do everything that needs to be done.

Wouldn’t it be nice just to take time out to be you?

The first rule of ‘Me time’ is that you shouldn’t feel guilty about it. The second rule is that it can be as long as you feel it’s necessary. And could be as little as a half-hour during a busy workday to a few days away to a couple of weeks of well-deserved R&R.

The benefits of Me time

There are so many benefits to ‘Me time’.

  • It’s a chance to relax, refocus, recharge, and take stock. You can then resume your responsibilities with a clearer head and a greater mindset.
  • Doing the things we enjoy (or even doing nothing at all) allows us to be happier, healthier and feel better.
  • It allows us to de-stress, unwind and rejuvenate, meaning you can renew, recharge, and build up energy reserves.
  • You get to choose what you want to do. Remember, it’s ‘Me time, which means you’re not accountable to anyone. You decide.
  • It’s an excellent opportunity to feel good about yourself by building your self-esteem and boosting your self-worth.
