Assisting a family with a smooth transition to assisted living

Our Property Consultant Glenn Pagano often goes above and beyond when helping clients with the sale of their property. He was recently able to help two brothers with the transition of their widowed mother to assisted living by taking care of the preparation and sale of her home.

Background: Two middle-aged brothers were faced with the challenge of helping their widowed mother move into an assisted living facility. One brother lived out of state, and the other was also managing a similar scenario on his in-laws’ side of the family. Both had limited time to devote to the task.

Goals: The primary objective was to make the transition as smooth and stress-free as possible for the family. In addition, they wanted to ensure that their mother’s home was prepared for sale in a timely and efficient manner, without adding more stress to the family’s already busy lives.

Process: The first step was to identify the assisted living facility that would best suit the mother’s needs. After careful research and consideration, the family selected a reputable facility that offered the necessary services and amenities.

Once the decision was made, the family faced the daunting task of preparing their mother’s home for sale. They needed help with painting, installing new flooring, and tidying up the garden. Glenn was able to help by enlisting the services of trusted professionals to handle these tasks, allowing the brothers to focus on their mum’s well-being and other important matters in their lives.

The family was able to focus on their mum’s well-being and other important matters in their lives, knowing the preparation and marketing of her home were being handled efficiently and professionally. Glenn was able to maximize the sale price while minimizing the impact on the family and maintaining consistent communication with the entire family. The sale of the property went smoothly, and the family was able to celebrate their success together.

Glenn even popped in to visit the vendor (mum), have the relevant documents signed, congratulate her, and have a cup of tea.
